Do I need kayaking experience?
No. Our tours are beginner-friendly, and both the coastal and clear kayaks are stable and easy to paddle. Guides give instruction and safety guidance before you launch.
What’s the difference between the clear and coastal kayaks?
Clear kayaks ($64) have a transparent hull so you can see straight into the water below — great for spotting rays and marine life. Coastal kayaks ($54) are classic sit-on-top kayaks with excellent comfort and back support. Both paddle the same routes.
Where do we meet?
We meet at 2960 Pinellas Bayway South in Tierra Verde (33715), just minutes from St. Petersburg. The waterline there borders the Shell Key Preserve, so your kayaks launch straight into Shell Key waters — no shuttle or separate boat ride.
Will we see wildlife?
Often, yes. Dolphins, manatees (in warmer months), rays, and shorebirds are common, though wildlife is never guaranteed. The mangrove tunnels and seagrass flats are especially rich.
What should I bring?
Sun protection, water, and clothing you don’t mind getting a little wet. We provide the kayaks and all necessary equipment.
How long is the tour?
Tours run about 3 hours at a relaxed pace on the water.
